You don’t need to know how to pose or worry about how you look in front of the camera. My job is to capture your genuine emotions, the atmosphere and the most meaningful moments of your day. A few simple tips will help us make your photographs even more beautiful.

Civil Wedding Ceremony Guide in Rimini and San Marino

1. Entering the ceremony room

Please let your guests enter first and give everyone time to find their seats. There is no need for everyone to enter the ceremony room all at once.

If you enter separately: the groom enters first and takes his place near the registration table, where he waits for the bride.

If you enter together: walk slowly, holding hands. You can look at each other and smile. There is no need to rush — your movement and glances create warm, natural photographs.

2. During the ceremony

Listen to the celebrant and look at them while they speak. Avoid looking at the floor, the ceiling or searching for the camera with your eyes. This helps your photographs feel more natural and emotional.

Don’t hide your emotions. If you feel like smiling, smile. If tears come to your eyes, let them fall. Try not to cover your face with your hands or look upwards to hide your tears.

A special tip for brides: avoid rubbing your eyes or wiping away tears with your hands, as this will help preserve your makeup. If necessary, gently dab your tears with a tissue.

Two other little details: please remove your chewing gum before the ceremony and try to avoid biting your lips. Small facial expressions make a difference in photographs.

During the ceremony, look at each other rather than at the camera. This is your moment, and your glances, smiles and genuine reactions are what will make your photographs truly special.

3. Exchanging rings

Before exchanging rings, straighten your back and lift your chin slightly while maintaining a natural posture.

Hold the ring between your thumb and index finger. Slowly slide it onto your partner’s finger, trying to look into each other’s eyes.

Please don’t rush. I need a few seconds to capture both the overall scene and close-up details, so I may move around slightly during this moment.

After the groom places the ring on the bride’s finger, a gentle kiss on her hand looks especially elegant and romantic in photographs.

Don’t worry if I’m unable to capture a close-up during the ceremony itself. If necessary, we can recreate that moment together once the ceremony is over.

4. Congratulations

During the congratulations, try not to move too far away from each other. Stay close so that you both appear in the photographs and your reactions become part of the same story.

Feel free to hug, hold hands, laugh and thank your guests. You don’t need to create or pretend to feel anything — simply enjoy the moment.

5. Exiting the ceremony room

This is the moment to let your emotions shine!

Smile, look at each other, celebrate and hug. You can also look at the camera if you feel like it. Once the official part is over, it’s time to relax and enjoy the happiness of the moment.

6. Photos with your guests

Decide in advance where you would prefer to take your group photographs: inside the building or outdoors.

The choice depends on the interior, the available space and the weather. For example, if it rains or the midday sun is particularly strong, it may be more comfortable to take the photographs indoors.

If you prefer to take the group photographs inside, please let your guests know in advance and organise the main group photo immediately after the ceremony. This will help us save time.

After the main group photo, we can take additional pictures with your witnesses, parents and other close family members. If you wish, we can also take a photograph with the town hall staff or the officiant.

If you prefer to take the group photographs outdoors, your guests can head outside after the ceremony and any necessary indoor photographs. They will have approximately 5–10 minutes to get ready for the traditional rice-throwing moment.

7. The traditional rice toss

For beautiful photographs, ask your guests to form a semicircle near the exit.

I will go outside ahead of you to find the best position. You can slowly count to ten before leaving the building. These few seconds will give me time to move away from the entrance and capture both the overall scene and the atmosphere of the moment.

Please let your guests know that they should not throw rice at the photographer or pour champagne over me. These gestures won’t make the photographs any more beautiful and may interfere with the shoot or damage my equipment.

8. Outdoor group photographs

If we haven’t taken the group photographs inside, we will organise them outdoors after the ceremony.

I will choose the most suitable location based on the lighting and available space. For a beautiful group photograph, it is important that your guests stand at roughly the same distance from the camera. Try to avoid forming a very long line or an excessively wide semicircle.

Please arrange a place in advance where everyone can leave their bags, shopping bags and other personal belongings. This will help keep distracting objects out of your photographs.

9. Photos with your loved ones

If it is especially important to you to have photographs with particular people, or if any of your guests would like a few pictures of their own, simply come over and let me know.

I may not know your friends and relatives personally, but I will be delighted to help you create beautiful photographs with everyone who matters to you.

Please don’t hesitate to ask. It is important to me that you have the memories you truly want to keep.

10. A short couple’s photoshoot

After the congratulations and group photographs, we usually set aside a little time for a photoshoot just for the two of you.

You don’t need to prepare poses in advance or worry about not knowing how to pose in front of the camera. I will guide you, suggesting where to stand, how to turn and what to do to create natural, beautiful photographs.

Below, you will find a few simple posing examples to help you feel more confident and comfortable.

And most importantly, remember: you don’t have to make everything perfect. On this day, you are not participants in a photoshoot — you are the main characters in your own love story. Enjoy each other, and leave the photographs to me.
